i couldn’t have asked for a better birthday! my boyfriend sean and i both took the day off to enjoy a day of frolicking, shopping, and some very memorable meals!
we started our day at reynards at the recently opened wythe hotel. the restaurant is beautiful and i love the way light pours into the dining room, through huge windows, making the restaurant the perfect setting for a sunny spring day.
the food here tasted so fresh and full of flavor. the best dish was the asparagus with a fried egg and spring greens (seen below). we also had an omelet with carmelized onions and gruyère with fries, and croissant with rhubarb jam.
during our post breakfast shopping excursion, we popped into the brooklyn charm shop, where i made the below necklace.
after shopping we stopped for a bubble tea break at vanessa’s dumpling
and the grand finale was dinner at marc forgione.
my unforgettable meal started with tortellini d’avanzi with truffle Balsamic, and trumpet royales (seen below) the tortellini were filled with tender duck confit, and the truffle balsamic was the perfect compliment.
sean started with the chili lobster (seen below) a perfectly cooked lobster tail is paired with a chili broth with just the right amount of spice, and a side of garlic toast.

halibut en croute, with artichoke, golden Raisins, hazelnuts, sauce “proposal”
the halibut was inclosed in a light pastry crust, and the texture and flavor of the raisins and hazlenuts blended perfectly.
veal tenderloin, boudin noir, young leeks, radish, pearl onion, mustard gastrique
the veal was wrapped in a house made sausage. this dish was rich with flavor and the sweet and acidic taste of the mustard gastrique gave it a nice balance.
