i wish i had known about the food truck cantine california when i was in paris! i would have tried their taco, or burger, maybe both, then a cupcake for dessert…and it all would have been more delicious with the eiffel tower in the background.
in the ny times article, “food trucks add american flavor to paris“, the writer explains how surprising it was to see such a truck in paris... ” it could have been williamsburg, brooklyn, or abbot kinney boulevard in los angeles, but the truck was parked at the north end of the canal st.-martin on the right bank.”
i was very excited to read upscale versions of american food are being embraced by parisians. i was also pleasantly surprised to learn about their love of brooklyn! my favorite quote from the article, “among young parisians, there is currently no greater praise for cuisine than ‘très brooklyn,’ a term that signifies a particularly cool combination of informality, creativity and quality.”
