i noticed a sign while shopping at brooklyn kitchen saying “nonna’s here, try her sauce“…obviously intrigued, i turn the corner and their she was in her apron welcoming everyone to try her locally made sauces! she told me in her adorable italian accent that she drove there 3 hours so people can taste her sauces, because they see it on the shelves, but “how will they know they like it?” well i liked it, and i bought a  jar of her delicious spicy sauce!

i was curious to know more about her sauce, so i went on the website given on the jar, spicy n’ sweet, and learned that she and her two business partners started their own urban garden, so they can source their own fresh and organic ingredients! this made me appreciate their sauce even more, as well as the fact that everything is made in small batches and hand jarred.

they also have their own blog with pictures of them cooking, their urban garden (seen below), foods they make with the sauce, etc…

the website also shares recipes using the sauces, including this creative roasted corn salsa shown below by nonna herself…
