for me there’s no better way to spend a sunny spring day than eating brunch al fresco at cafe de la esquina, sipping on a margarita, and feeling like i’m on vacation in my own neighborhood.

my ideal brunch is two tacos, the bistec seen below (char-grilled marinated steak, with, onions, cilantro, and salsa roja) and pescado a la brasas (grilled market fish with shredded cabbage, shaved onions, chipole mayo, and salsa verde)

with a side of elotes callejeros (grilled corn, mayo, cotija cheese, chili powder)

and of course one or two margarita “de la casa”
